Dog Days is a celebration of the dog! We will promote responsible dog ownership by highlighting some of the fun ways we, as individuals, and a community, can build strong, mutually appreciative relationships with our dogs. Our goal is to bring public awareness to dog-related activities in and around San Benito County and be a positive force for educating the public about the wonderful rewards and many responsibilities relating to dog ownership.
Prizes will be awarded to the dog who: has the best bark, is so ugly they’re cute, has the “waggiest” tail, looks so much like you it’s crazy and does the funniest pet trick. The pooch parade costume contest will award prizes for the best duo or group in costume and most unique costume. We will also crown the King and Queen of Dog Days!
In addition to the competitions, a variety of dog and pet-related groups and services will be at the event. We will have “Rescue Row” as well as many breed specific groups. We will have numerous doggie demonstrations happening throughout the day including, herding, protection dog, obedience, rally, and many others. We will also be offering Canine Good Citizen testing.
We are looking for vendors and sponsors who would be interested in helping make Dog Days of Hollister a success. We had approximately 600 adults and more than 300 dogs attend our event last year and look forward to making this year even better.
We have partnered with the Hollister Downtown Association as well as local rescue groups to feature dogs for adoption as well as bring attention to their need for resources to continue to help out the numerous dogs that are ending up in the shelters.
We will be promoting Dog Days through advertising, posters, radio, online efforts, direct mail and retail establishment.
You can increase sales, generate leads, introduce products, promote pet-related goods and services, connect and network with local, regional and/or national pet businesses, manufacturers and organizations!
Be associated with an event that encompasses all things dog, with a strong commitment to responsible pet ownership, adoption and rescue!
